DIY: How to box frame your Kaleerei (& other shaadi treasures)

I love the look of Kaleerei and had dreamt of wearing them - despite having a love hate relationship with by them by end of my wedding day (having de tangled them every time I moved and knocking myself in the face when I threw rice at my Doli).

I love the look of Kaleerei and had dreamt of wearing them - despite having a love hate relationship with by them by end of my wedding day (having detangled them every time I moved and knocking myself in the face when I threw rice at my Doli).

As much as they set of a Punjabi brides outfit, they can't really be worn again, likewise with a grooms Kalgi, so instead of leaving them in the cupboard my sister box framed mine for me.

Now I'm not as creatively talented as she is, but even I could do this so here's how:

1. Buy a shadow box

Mine was from The Range (in U.K.), but I've seen similar ones at Kmart and other home decor stores

2. Choose a pretty paper to line the back

Stationary stores, a pretty piece of wrapping paper from a gift store or wall paper

3. Use sewing pins to secure the jewellery in place

These come in all sorts of colours and gold or silver so choose ones that will blend in

4. Lay the jewellery flat in the box, arrange it how you like and secure it in place with pins

5. Done!

I think it's a beautiful way to display these pieces forever! Don't forget to tag my in the end result if you give this a go !
